My husband and I have 95K in credit card debt, split 60K/35K between us. We both work full time and my husband recently lost his additional part time job. We are now unable to make our monthly payments and are considering debt settlement. Should we pursue settlement together or separately?

Do you file tax jointly or separately?

When considering settling debt of that volume I would keep in mind the tax consequences of it because any forgiven debt amount over $600 would become taxable.
