Are collectors allowed to use Alias names?

Such as "Miss Tonya"?

I've noticed that MRSI's collectors use alias names... more like that don't state their first name or last name. Referring to themselves as Ms. Tonya or Ms. Crumb, Mr. Andrews and etc.

According to the comments of Federal Trade Commission, a distinctive collector may use an alias or pseudonym if it is used customarily. But, it should not meddle with any other party???s ability to recognize the person.

Further, a collector should not use a name that will misrepresent his/her identity or mislead the consumer.

Whenever, the debt collector uses different names in multiple cases, it does not violate Section 807(14), if he/she uses the same name persistently when dealing with a specific consumer.
