settled 3 accounts over $40k @30% in 3 payments. They have these threshholds stamped on the accounts and reps cannot budge. Still a great settlement given what boa can do if they want to. Now settled about $150,000@ 31%. Only Amex/NCO was a 35% and WF, BOA, Chase were at 30%. I don't think I have the patience to do this as a job, but it was certainly worth the effort on my own. Only ONE card to go....Visa (regional bank) they refuse to charge it off and no settlement at $21k.

Update: the referenced regional bank IS settling cards. I have been advised to write an individual in mgmt regarding a settlement of 50%. Maybe 50% of the orig balance before default interest piled on?? I hope so and will let the forum know.

2 personal cards and one biz... by my count I was about 180 days but they said 120-140. the first offer of 50% came at 3 months. I offered 20 to no avail and they came down to 30 at about 4 months.

One of the reasons I settled today is that they defaulted the interest and it was growing fast! Good Luck.

Congratulations Dan!!! Great job. I'm glad to hear that the ones at the end aren't tougher. I keep thinking that the last card standing may stick to their guns since everything else is paid off, they may figure you can now afford the payments to them.

Keep us informed and I also have enjoyed all of your posts.

Good point, to be. Now, here's what you do... Take the payment plan. then they don't report that to the credit bureau until a month after the final payment is in. THEN, they have no idea you are settling. How do you like that one?
