Just settled CITI ! At 25 % !!

How can this be????? I'm 157 days late, they offer 45% I counter with (3x now) 30% and they keep saying N-O! :(

I know ... I could not believe it either...

My wife has 2 citis and they are 120-140 days late ... and they wont go
below 45-50 % !!
Balances # 1 20k
Balance #2 6k

So I may have won one battle but I have 2 more yet to fight !!

Talk to several people in the managers assistance unit too! Did they transfer you around like musical chairs and leave you on hold forever? I have also threaten BK and Foreclosure is in my future too! Got a email today my account is close to charge off :(
About ready to give up!!!! Maybe I can get a lower settlement when it's sold or goes to a attorney.

There is not always a logical explaination for what these banks do !!

But someone else posted that maybe Citi is beginning to loosen up ...

You know the crazy thing, they rarely call me! Maybe once a week or less, what's up with that? I have to call them which is a pain then I get the ran around :(

Remember, I got mine settled at 25 % ..... My wife still has 2 cc's and they are being a pain in the A$# on those two...... (ususal citi .... best offer I think was 45 %)

The lowest Citi came with me is 45%. I really need to get 30%
Remember we are talking percentage on the new balance which actually accrued like 2,000 in those 150 days that I am late so they still get more than 30%
They don't go any lower for me and I am about to give up. Some say that you get better deal after charge off but then you have to pay taxes on the full amount as well so it's not really good deal either.
I am too afraid to deal with lawsuit
By the way, citi only calls like once or twice a week too. When I call I spend a lot of time when transferring and talking to wrong reps, then to an A$%^& manager and that ruins my day completely! Ughh

keep in mind that it may depend on too when an how much you last charged if they were able to make back thier money an some interest. but frankly great job cause they would not settle or budge with me at all i ended up having to go to court over citibank my smallest debt.

It was 25 % of a 17800 balance on a personal cc

It was about 80-90 days late

paid over 3 payments ....

Already got settlement letter in the mail.... they would not fax it.

But they kept true to there word

Citi is very tough , I was suprised actually that I got 25%
but I jumped on it.
