What does that mean?
Citibank wants 55% to settle at 175 days but I don't have it. The guy I spoke to today said it's going into litigation next week, unless I can come up with $14,000. :(
Keep offering 35% but they keep saying NO-H*ll NO!
He told me they will NEVER take 35%???????????

"What is ???litigation????

A controversy before a court or a "lawsuit" is commonly referred to as ???litigation???. If it is not settled by agreement between the parties it would eventually be heard and decided by a judge or jury in a court. Litigation is one way that people and companies resolve disputes arising out of an infinite variety of factual circumstances."

could just be blowing smoke up your butt. look around the site here and see if anyone else has gotten a sub 50% settlement.

hope the definition helps somewhat!

Am I dying?? No. And I am not lying either not sure which one you meant to ask. I told them the complete truth, my husbands salary is gone and now on commission only. I told them they could do an automatic withdrawal (I know others say not to do that but I wanted this over with). And she asked if I could do it in one lump sum and I said yes. She did say it helped I have been a citi member since 1992 with a good paying history which is the case. I did a search and either people had a really bad experience with citi or a good one. Did you call the number I gave you?

I do have another citi card that they said is charged off so who knows if I will have good news on that one, I will update.

Sorry this is happening, keep at them and you may get someone to do it!

Gee..someone correct me if I'm wrong...but didnt Citibank take several hundred million in bailout money? Threats of litigation are just that usually..empty threats.
First..ask for proof of the debt by line and charge.
Second..dont correspond in anyway but writing and if they dont have a direct dispute address it only gets better for you.
Keep all of your correspondence and attempts at correspondence...send them the copies.
Third..people who have the least worry about a credit score usually worry the most about it.
Instead of making your family suffer..just..stop..paying them. The Interest
rates they charge are obscene..the late and other fees are contrived to rob you...
Look at it this way...would you like to eat or worry about paying an out of control criminal enterprise? If more people just said NO how much more we could accomplish.
Read your rights, check your state's rules and regs..dont forget the Fed RnR's as well.
Most written off debt is off the books in seven years without a BK. And you will still
be able to get credit during that time.
