I have been paying the minimum balance until Oct of 2009 but now have no balance in my bank account! I do not have a job in the US and in fact I have come back to my country to work. However, I do not want to cheat and run away from the creditors. I hope to come back to the US someday and would not want negetive points on my credit score and on my credibility. However, i do not have any money left in my bank account so i cannot pay anymore. I had given the address of my friend for mail forwarding and he keeping getting threatening letters from card companies warning me of suing for no-payment. Can I work on a debt negotiation with them from my country? Should i rather go with a debt settlement company? Whom should I contact? Please help!
