I owe about 26K and past due about 150 days. The offer I have is 39% I offered 30% they refused and now they say it will go another office may be in house or be charged of and go for possibly collections etc. If they sue can I use the arbitrations? Will they come down to 30%?
Please help.

I got 30% with citi. But I know others that had a harder time with them. I have no idea why it was so easy for us, maybe we got lucky. I also had a low balance with them and paid in one lump sum so that may have helped. I was a little worried because I know everyone says to get the letter first and not to give them bank info. But they already had my bank info anyway and they said they would mail the letter and I went ahead and did it and I did receive the letter in the mail yesterday (which was about a week after settlement).

We do have one with citi still that is in their "recovery dept" and I guess it is because we have a payment plan with them (although we have stopped paying on it). I still don't quite understand what the recovery dept is but for us I guess it is where it went when they closed out the acct and had the payment plan. It is still part of citi. I tried to settle on that one but they keep saying I am not late on that one which doesn't make sense because I haven't paid on it in a few months but since it is on a payment plan they are considering it current, weird.
