my husband went to schnieder for training to get his cdl. now he owes them 6,400 and it is in collections. and we mad arrangement to pay something every month. but they keep adding 19% intrest every month. can they do that

Please provide us with more info on the situation. Obviously you received the training, so you owe these folks money. I assume you intend to pay it? Obviously if you don't pay upfront, you are going to be charged interest. They have to pay their bills too.

Sorry Bruce, but schools like this generally do not lend money directly. This sounds like a private school loan thru an outside source.
Also from doing some research on the web, there were some issues with this school and is now closed.

What rock did you crawl out from under? I see you have comments on several threads, with the same more of less pay your bill attitude. Don't go judging people on situations that you know nothing about.
