I have been off work since june of last year. I have been upable to make payments on my credit cards. I was trying to keep my house note payed. Now one of my credit card people have sent me a summon by a sheriff. I dont know what to do because I dont have any money coming in. I am trying to get disablity but that is a long process.

First off, you would need to file a reply to the summons to stop the creditor from getting a default judgement against you. If you are disabled and own no money you can put that as your defence. Check with the court clerk to find out the way to response to the summons.

Unemployment and disability benefits can't be garnished.
