I checked my credit card records and various financial statements tonight.
I have kept FIA Card in spite of the way they treated me so at least I have some credit if needed.
Here is what thy have done so far:
Raised my rates more than double the original amount (11.9% to 28.9%).
They lowered my credit limit by more than half - from $6000 to $2500.
When I had the problem last year they reported me to the credit agencies and lowered my score.
They then led to many companies closing down my accounts - and FIA Cards was using their OWN rating to deny me a lower interest.
I paid them what I could and did not pay the the $560 to $800 monthly payments they demanded last year.
I could not afford food at this time yet paid them $50 in good faith each month I was in trouble.
There were two months when I needed to do this.
And now that I have paid them every penny short of about $20 they have now closed my account and have stopped any credit.
I have written the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union, where I was connected to this card in the first place. The credit was sold twice, and is now owned by the Bank of America - a particularly nasty company!
They may have done me a favor? Yet how they handle their "customers" is as if only only purpose is to supply them with free money.
