Wages in south carolina can only be garnished for federal/state debts (like student loans and taxes) and child support.

Dont get complacent though as they can do all the other civil remedies on things you own above the states exemption limitations.
go to sctstatehouse.gov and search for exemptions and levy and youll see what they cant do. Anything else is fair game.
Of particular interest to them here (im in SC as well) are apparently bank acct levies and/or liens on real property. The second you have no control over the first you have....almost no control over but you can do certain things to try and make the bank levies much more trouble for them.
