I have been trying to get Arrow to verify a debt. I even hired an attorney whom stated they have 30 days to answer but do not have to at which time we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I was trying to settle on a house by the deadline, that's gone. I tried so many times to call and make a settlement offer and they wouldn't even discuss the account with me. At this point my only other cheap option if they do not respond is to file a complaint with the attorney general's office of my state. It is an election year and I do believe he is runing for Gov. maybe he'll want to be helpful to the people of his state(wink.)
My question is can a collection agency just ignore a request for validation? If they do is there any recourse I have in response ?

No..you have 30 days to request debt validation. there is no time line as to when Arrow must validate the debt., However, it they dont validate, they cannot continue collecting. No recourse unfortunately.
Why wont they discuss the debt with you?
