James West Law firm

James West is an attorney in Texas. I did find two consumer alert articles stating that the firm had attempted to rip people off so be careful of these guys.

Unless Mr. West has a member of his firm that is licensed in AZ, and the firm is legitimately trying to collect on a debt then he can use any collection method that is legal in AZ short of taking you to court. The firm would need a lawyer admitted to the state bar of Arizona to represent them in court if they try to sue you and MUST sue you in Arizona to collect, again if this is not a scam.
Send the firm a verification letter via certified mail to find out whether this is a scam before you pay them anything.

Perhaps, you should consider hiring OVLG Attorney as your consumer attorney. .
