I have scammers calling me on a payday loan i already paid, my question is, he is also calling the 2 people i put as personal references, 1 of them is a co-worker who i did'nt ask , which i know is my fault, but i never asked in the past with my friends cause we all helped each other. This co-worker is very mad and threatened to sue me if the phone calls don't stop. I offered to pay for his phone # to be changed, and opologized a dozen times. But can he do anything legal to me, i'm very sorry about this to the point it's making me sick. Thanks

I don't think he can do so unless your state has some law that lets him. I can't think of a general legal theory off the top of my head that would give him a reason to sue, especially since he hasn't been injured financially, mentally, or physically. Next time the scammers call get their contact info and send them a cease and desist letter certified mail.
