I have been making the minimum payments on my credit cards. I owe $60,000 and making small payments are not helping. I would like to do a debt settlement but do not want to mess up my credit. Since I am current on my bills, can I send letters to my creditors asking to negotiate without stopping my payments?

And I quote "I would like to do a debt settlement but do not want to mess up my credit."

Greetings Confused,

You've got to decide your path of action.
The fact is that if you pursue debt settlement, your credit rating will suffer.

Ask yourself this.... is a credit rating is more important than being debt free?

It's your decision to make.

Best of Luck,
