Just recently I bought my first piece of rental property and have my first tenants. I am completely new to the idea of
landlord management property and was wondering what types of things I should look out for. I have usually done this on abandoned properties and foreclosures. More of a property preservation role.

Thanks!

Hi bentleybarker,

For managing your property as a landlord, you can either try to manage it yourself. It saves your money. However, if you want you can also join a landlord property management company. It is a good option because they may provide you cost effective property repairs, let you know the current market trend according to which you may rent out your property. They also help you out in getting better tenants. Thus, if you want you can contact any such landlord management property company.

Thanks

A property management company will keep you from having to go over and do repairs yourself, but they do surcharge for arranging and handling the repairs. You also have to remember that they only get paid when rent is coming in so some mgt companies will rent it to anyone. I think it's better to pick your own tenants.
