HI There I am not in USA right now. I was laid off in Dec 09. I have some bad debt. I intend to settle it now. Is it possible to settle it from out of USA. Tom

I think that as you aren't living in USA, for settling the debt you will have to first talk to an attorney. This is a much complicated thing to handle on your own.

Tanweer, the banks will accept your money even if you were on a another planet. As long as you can call and verify ID, give yoru checking info, and agree to a settlement... you are good to go.

I can't see any reason why a creditor would turn down at least an offer, I would communicate with them via USPS so you will have a record of all communications with your creditors. Check out the link below for more information on debt settlement:
