Credit Report Error cause Harrassing Calls
Date: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 07:17
Equifax made a typo on my husbands credit report which we found in Feb 2010 and had corrected at that time. Chase has been harassing us for information that is not ours, but is related to the SSN that was incorrectly input on their form (1 number different). Now Chase has submitted this to the 3rd collection agency since when Chase called us we said that the person they were looking for never has lived here, and explained the situation. How can we get Chase to figure this out, and stop the harassing phone calls for someone who lives on the west coast when we live in the mid-west.
The most recent was that MRS called this morning, and I said that that the person doesn't live here, but I was so busy I didn't have time to explain. I called back and she hung up on me when I tried to tell her that the report was in error and corrected in Feb. She then said that it was turned over to them July 1 from Chase.
Remember this isn't even our debt, but we are being harassed.
