i am recieving calls from client services regarding two credit cards i had, one was a shell master card and the other was a home depot card, both held by citibank. the total of the 2 cards is $305.00. medical problems and bills prevented me from paying them. citibank also canceled my shell card for no reason. it was aways paid in full every month. my question is i can client services contact my friend about the shell card.? she was a AU, not the primary account holder. she also was not on the home depot card. which they are trying to collect with the shell card.is them trying to contact her a voliation of the FDCPA. thanks

Your friend is authorized user and as such any negative entries will affect their credit. They can be contacted and notified but being authorized they are not financially responsible. They can have themselves removed from the account.
