Notice from FNBC re delinquent acct

I received a notice from FNBC. It says, Original creditor: Cross Country bank & Creditor is Applied Bank. I use to have Cross County Bank and thought its been paid long time ago. Not sure exactly when but I think more than 4 yrs ago. can they still come after me after 4 yrs? I don't have any acct from Applied bank. I'm from CA & SOL is 4 yrs. I am writing them letter to validate this debt. Is this the right way and what else can I do next? thanks
Check your credit report...when was your date of last payment?
Check your credit report...when was your date of last payment? DV them and if it is out of SOL, send them a FOAD letter.
