If a collection has been sold to another ca but you never received anything from the new ca, what is the best way to validate your debt?

Send them a debt validation letter certified mail return receipt requested. In the letter, request full validation per the example on this site. Also, state that you have not received any written communication from them and they must validate the debt or remove it from your credit report. Wait about 30 days after you receive the green slip of confirmation back from the post office and dispute the entries with the three CRAs. If the verify the debt without validating then the violated the FDCPA and the FCRA. Send them another DV letter stating the violations and that the must properly validate or remove the disputed items from your CRs via certified mail. Wait 30 days and dispute again. If they verify again then you can try intent to sue letter stating the infractions.
