I rec'd a call from this agency last week trying to collect on unpaid traffic violations from 2 cars that I have never owned. The rep gave me the tag numbers and the description of the cars. I wne to the DMV website and the tickets are valid, I just don't know how MRS got my name and tel number. Is there a way to find out how they got my info, and how they matched those cars to me?

Not owning the cars doesn't mean you couldn't still have gotten the tickets. Did you ever get a parking ticket or speeding ticket while driving a friend's/relative's car? It's possible there's a simple mixup with a similar name/address/ss#/dl# etc. If they aren't yours, you won't have to pay them. Was this a collection agency calling? If so, ask them to send you a collection letter. When you receive it, reply with a DV letter and tell them that these are not your violations. If they aren't, you should easily be able to prove it.
