Cach LLC - returned mail
Date: Wed, 09/01/2010 - 22:08
I recently pulled my credit report, and Cach LLC is reporting as a collection. It corresponds to a Care Credit Account that I had for approx $1500, and went to Cach LLC Aug 2009. I am trying to go through the debt settlement process - my credit is shot, I know, but I am getting married and I don't want anyone to be able to sue me and then go after my husbands assets. I am unemployed but have some savings, and want to negotiate settlements.
I sent certified mail to CACH LLC asking them to validate the debt, to the address given on my credit report (which was 370 17th Street, Suite 5000, Denver CO) - but it came back undeliverable and unable to forward. Should I now:
A) Send the same letter to the address given above (ie. S. Monaco)?
B) Contact the credit reporting agencies and tell them that I tried to validate the debt to the address on the report, and the address is invalid (and therefore so possibly is the debt)? If they try to sue me, I have the initial letter as evidence that I was trying to resolve the issue.
C) Do something else..?
Thanks!

No, you would need to call them and get a correct and current ad
No, you would need to call them and get a correct and current address. A third party source is not always reliable.
