Question regarding online gambling chargebacks
Date: Wed, 09/29/2010 - 09:25
Please no ethics here as I very well know what they are. Pls do not bother to respond if you cannot answer what I asked.
I am into online gambling and would have spent 40k until now.
Recently for the first time, I won a 4000$ in an online casino, but the casino said that I cannot cash it out as I have used an invalid coupon to make that money whereas one of their representatives gave me the coupon code.
I got really really pissed off and charged back the 3500$ I deposited, with my bank. This i the first ever time I did this.
The bank has already deposited the money into my account. But what are the current consequences of a charge back. All the discussions here are like an year old. I see that almost all the casinos these days hire CAs.
I know there is some new law which was passed on Sept10th regarding online gambling but I played before that.
How are people handling charge backs these days. I know I can defend the CAs with all the documentation I get from the bank. Would this go on my credit report. If so, how would I defend it ? I am also going to be out of USA for a while on a foreign assignment.
Thanks for your responses.
