I had in good faith to settle my account with Macy's before they send me to collections but every representative I speak to refuses to even listen saying that I must pay in full. The amount in question is $3,050 What can I possible do before this gets out to collections and before my credit is ruin. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. My name is Kathy.

It is really the creditors option as to whether or not they will settle...they are under no obligation, moral or legal to settle. If you do a search of the forum you will see that Macys does settle, but not to the same extent that other companies do....plus they appear to only settle in collections.
