hey nelly,
i have collection agencies calling for a woman with my maiden name. how do i stop these calls? they won't give me any information on the debts because i tell them i'm not her. i have asked them to tell whoever "paid" them that i'm not her and they say it's "their debt" and they cannot call themselves, but this is two calls i have received in 4 days (monday, then thursday).... and i went roundabout with bank of america in august & september over a debt with a woman by that name.
these calls are costing me $ on my cell bill. do i have any recourse on these calls?

Greetings "obviouslywrongname",

I've had it happen to me several times over the years.
Got tired of it like you have.

So I started telling them that the person was locked up in the state pen for murder or whatever your choice is!

The phone calls stopped.

Of course they call back every now and then.
I have more fun with them.

Got a telephone number that shows up on your cell phone?
If so, please share it with us!

Regards,
King "Kash" Jabba Labba

ok, king kash, the first was Bank of America in august @ 716-635-2000, who left voicemail (i've stopped answering blocked calls) to call 800-451-6362. then don from 1st source advantage called from a blocked number and left voicemail to call 888-446-8457. then yesterday, "agent eric", who couldn't speak any english, including trying to pronounce my ONE SYLLABLE MAIDEN NAME (duh!), from world financial national bank (which, he couldn't pronounce either -- at first he said word metric national bank??), left voicemail to call 800-695-7444 x 7732.

then today, during my lunch hour, don from 1st source advantage called again and wanted me to call him back (hello? he was removing my phone number from their records on monday??).

anyhow, today when i went to call don back to inform him of my attorney's phone number, i found he was gone for the day, so i got someone else to "remove my number" again, but she gave me a birthdate of the person in question who is 66 years of age (i'm 50 -- not even close, eh?). so, now i have a birthdate to "unmatch" the question. HA!

yes, i think that having fun with them would be good, but then they may never catch this person who they think is me. one less person with a bad rep and my name would be a better trade!

goodday, y'all!
