I reside in NJ and has a loan with my cash now.
I did repay the principle in full (it was 1100.00). I closed my bank acct and now they are demanding 2220.00.
They have just sent to 3rd party collections in Florida - Accelerated Receivables Management.
Any suggestions? Thought this would not get this far as they are illegal in NJ with the interest rate they are charging.

well a couple of things

1)my cash now is illegal in every way.(in fact they are not based in the us).
2)ARM is not licensed to collect in NJ.
3)since pdl's are prohibited in NJ you owe nothing more.

first file AG,and FTC complaints against my cash now.then if this bottomfeeder ARM called you file a police report as i'm sure they used alot of illegal verbage like.threats of arrest, and lawsuit.i'm not even going to ask if you got a letter because ARM never sends anything.they would rather threaten.file the report, and complaints.then ignore ARM as they have no right to contact much less collect, and this was an illegal loan you paid back.

Actually the "firm" did send a request for repayment that quoted fdcpa rules and that they would follow them to the fullest.

I have not received a phone call only to date a letter.

Should I ask for validation of the debt?

Should I still ask Accelerated to provide licensing info for NJ.

Thank you

as far as validation of the debt.what can they possibly provide?i would send a demand for licensing for both the pdl and them.of course they will follow fdcpa rules.as soon as you question this they will call and threaten.check your state law as far as recording calls.alot of places will send letters, but once someone questions they call and get nasty.

Wow! Paul your extremely hostile towards this collection agency. Do people understand agencies whom Paul calls bottomfeeders help keep inflation down. they help recover 5 billion dollars a year in bad debt, which means the cost for us on many items can be kept affordable. I agree some agencies can be rude and hostile. I am curious if Paul deals with alot of agencies? Are you a professional debtor? One of those people who take money from loan companies and try to beat them out of it? Your parents must be so proud of you.! How about giving the advice of dealing with your creditors upfront and honestly? Tell your creditor you are having trouble paying and if you do pay it keep your records. Paul you should let people know if they falsely file a Police report they can go to JAIL!!!!!! People are adults and this country would be in a much better place to live if people were not trying to get things for free and paying bills.

the person above me must be the pride of this bottomfeeder.btw if someone plays a recording of said threats then the police protect the person.it's par for the course to throw out the term jail, but i expect nothing less from someone of your dubious ilk.to sum it up when a bottomfeeder threatens jail themselves it is justified to file a police report.now back to the phones drone.
