Hello All,

I'm going to file for chapter 7, but i first want to know if this will hurt my loan mod. I'm in the process of an appeal for HAMP with BofA. Started trial for HAMP after 8 month of payment was denied due to excessive debt and not enough income.

Thanks

You will not be able to qualify for loan modification when you file bankruptcy. However, once you get bankruptcy discharge, you can apply for loan modification. However, if you file Chapter 7 bankruptcy and reaffirm your mortgage, you'll become personally liable for that debt. In such a situation, you can apply for loan modification.
