Close Bank Account / PDL payment arrangements

What do I need to do to close my bank account so the PDL no longer has access to it?
Also, with the following lenders, what can you tell me about them being legal in the state of Texas and any info about dealing with them about payment arrangements is appreciated.
Ace Cash Express.... $400
Cash America Advance.... $700
EZ Money..... $700
Cash Stop ... $400
The Cash America and EZ Money are actually a combined total of mine and my wife's PDLs.

When I started my settlement journey last month, I had auto. pay
When I started my settlement journey last month, I had auto. payments for my CC, and I to end it, so I just called my credit union, and told them that there are unauthorized payments coming out of my checking account, and I wanted to cancel that acct, and get a new one. They e-mailed me a short authorization form, and I just signed it, and checked off that I want a close my current acct, and open a new one. No problems. They even linked my old debit card to the new acct., so I didn't need a new card. Took about a day for them to take care of it.
It might be different with a bank though, not sure.
