I have been dealing with the company A.S and Assoc for about a few weeks now. I've taken a payday advance with VIP for $500, and now A.S and Assoc. wants to collect a little over $1000 from me. I have sent them $250 western union, and I asked for them to wait until the first of December for I can send them anymore, I just started a new job so Im trying to get caught up on my rent. I have gotten a call yesterday and today to send more money tomorrow....not even a payday, and not what we agreed to. They have not sent me my letter yet. I guess the question I have is, am I obligated to send that whole amount they are requesting,or just what I owe? I have read some of the posts for the first time about this company, and I am very upset with this company, but now I just want to be done with them.

Thanks

Is VIP a legal lender in your state? If not, do not pay may more money. All you are obligated to pay back is the amount of the original loan if this is an illegal PDL in your state. Sounds like you've already closed your bank account and if that is the case and this is an illegal lender you need to file a complaint with the AG, FTC and BBB in your state. You also need to find out if A S and Assoc is a legal collection agency in your state. If not file a complaint against them as well. Do not send them any more money, or have any further phone conversations with them until you establish if they are legal or illegal. You need everything in writing. If this is a legal lender and collection agency you need to send them a request for validation of the debt.
