Amex debt settlement

Anyone have any experience w/AmEx? I owe them 13K and at going deliquent and trying to get a settlement. I have several other cards that I owe less and plan on paying off. Also, my credit score is currently approximately 720. If I start missing payments how badly will my credit score be damaged, and how long will it take to recover? Will AmEx discharge the account as Paid in Full or will I have a permanent mark/damage on my credit report? Thanks

So, while I am not going to repeat months of posting, I wll tell you that they will settle at 90-120 days and yes it will hurt your credit. dtm
