The debt was incurred through Amex, I guess subsequently sold to them. How can I be sure it's included in the bankruptcy? I'm at the initial stages of filing using an attorney. I had made an agreement with Zwicker allowing them to make monthly payments from my checking account.
How do I tell them I no longer want to allow this based on my filing? I'm worried they will essentially ignore me and continue making withdrawls based on my previous agreement to allow it.

Call them and tell them to stop the debits immediately due to filing bankruptcy. You will probably need to give them the name and phone number of your attorney. Also make sure your attorney has their contact information so he/she can contact them as well.
The sure way to do this is to simply close the account or do a stop payment on the draft directly with the bank. But they may charge you to do this and it's not fool proof.
