Had Credit Card When I was a Minor

This might sound confusing, but tell me what you think. My husband and my credit has always been good. We have been able to purchase a house, etc. However, there has always been one inaccuracy on my credit report....well maybe not an inaccuracy but something that I consider wrong to be on my report.
When I was 13 or 14, my mom was trying to put me on her Target credit card as a authorized user. Instead, we end up accidentally filling out paperwork as a joint account holder. Apparently, my mom didn't read it right I guess. I really don't know why she was trying to even put me on an authorized user, but she said she was trying to build my credit. No, I don't know why a 14 year old needs to worry about that, but she is odd like that. And being 14, I didn't know any better.
Well, when I got married like a decade later I noticed the Target card on my credit report. My mom and I both closed the account in full. (I wanted it closed because my mom has been late on other cards, fortunately, not this card). Well, I spoke to someone in the Target credit department and I explained to them that I wanted this removed from my credit report. I was only a minor when it was opened. He claimed it would be removed, although he was not very interested in helping me.
It was never removed. So, I don't see any negative impact on there, but I have always been afraid of it being on my report at such a young age. Are there any laws that protects minors from this?
Should I just let it go? I am almost 30 and have purchased a house, cars, etc. Never been declined anything. I guess I'm afraid this could bite me in the butt one day? The account has been closed for years and is still on my credit report.
Thanks for your help.

You may dispute it online at the credit bureau websites. I guess it can be done free of cost. But I have a reason to believe that it would be a better idea to send in your letter via a certified mail. That way you could attach any proof of your last payment along with your letter.

Oh ok sorry about that. I was not trying to spam. Obviously this subject is of interest to me, and I always post my blog link everywhere.
Do you know if there is anything I can do? Should I not worry about this issue? Are there laws to protect minors?

How long ago was this account closed? It should fall off your reports automatically after 7ish years. If your mother was also on the account, I don't think it's illegal. People do that type of thing all the time for their college kids, or kids away at boarding school, etc.
