If you place an initial fraud alert on your credit report, how much of a hassle does it create for you?

As far as I know, an initial 90 day fraud alert indicates to people asking for your credit file that you suspect you are a victim of fraud. When you or anyone else tries to open a credit account in your name or increase the credit limit on an existing account, or obtain a new card on an existing account, your lender/creditor will take steps to verify that you have authorized that request. If the creditor cannot verify this from you, then the request will not be satisfied.
