Hi Nelly,
A debt collector that has been calling my employer has informed 2 of my co-workers about my debt and also told them that if they didnt get ahold of me they would garnish my chack...after searching the web I understand that what they are doing is not legal. I just filed a complaint with the FTC. Any other suggestions on what to do? Should I also contact the company?

To avoid any embarrassment with your employer and co/workers just tell them your a victim of fraud. I had one of these scum bags from God knows what company call another company and use all of my personal information to harass them, they called 50 times back to back. Finally the other company wised up, figured something was wrong and called the phone this person gave and they reached me, and figured out I wasn't the Indian speaking person on the phone that had been threatening them. Here I have someone impersonating me, and there's nothing I can do about it. So be lucky, all they did was call your employer.
