Most collection agencies have this habit. They tend to ask several questions to gather information about the true financial situation of the consumers. However, if you are not the person whom they are trying to reach, then explain that clearly to them. As per the FDCPA Act, the collection agency can't contact a third neutral party for more than one time. If they continue to harass you time and again, then take legal action against them.
