On 1/17/2011 I got 2 calls from this CA - first on my landline, then on my cell phone. This person (female) asked for someone not known to me. However, I do share the same last name of the person she asked to talk to. Also, there's nobody alive or dead in my family with that first name...
It sounds like this person was on a fishing expedition...
I didn't reveal that I share the same last name though. I saw no reason to do so. I made it perfectly clear that there is nobody by that name at either my landline or cell phone number...
It may have been they're calling everybody in a given area code with the last name of this person and hoping to catch a big fish...
If they bother me again...what options are open to me?

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
Under FDCPA Act, collection agencies can't call you again and again for locating certain consumer. They are allowed to call you only once. So, if the collection agency calls you again, tell them that you'll take legal action against them unless they stop calling you.
