I got new cell phone with new phone number for my child. This 800-444-8485 E.R. company keeps calling and leaving several messages per day asking for V. I called them back explaining the situation. I was asked for my name - did not give it to them - asked for my home number - did not do it -they promised to take that cell number of list. But on the end of conversation i was asked twice if I am that V. person, even when i said no. They asked me if I know this person, I said no, i got this number in store....

Hung up the phone whenever they call you. You can report the number to the do not call registry also. However, if they are a collection agency, then you'll not be able to do so. If they are a collection agency, then tell them not to call you again. Inform the CA that you'll take legal action against them if they call you again.
