I am having problms with pay day loan companies because My bank had to close my account so a lawyer called me and said i needed to pay a lump sum of over a thousand dollars the loan was three hundred and there was three seperate loans i have to wait a bit before i can open the new accout but I dont know what to do It is so bad I thought about claiming bankrupt but I dont know how to do that neither

-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

1. To late to tell you not to take out pay day loans. They are nothing more than loan sharks.
2. I don't know you situation but feel for you and wish there was a better way.
3. Pay Day Loans are illegal and unenforceable in most states. Look it up for your state.
4. I highly doubt the person calling you is an attorney.
5. Tell them to send you documented, detailed proof of the debt.
6. Tell them to go ahead and file with the court house and you will then respond to the summons. Again, enforcement of pay day loans in most states doesn't happen.
7. File a complaint with the FTC and State Attorney General's Office for harassment.
