About 3 months ago I settled with GE money for a motorcycle loan, I have yet to receive the title. What is the best course of action?

I hope you got the settlement in writing, or something that shows the account as being paid/satisfied. Some places have been known to take a "settlement" just to get payment, and then hold the title for ransom until the balance (settled portion) of the account is paid.

Call them and ask where your title is. Most lenders release and mail the title back within a month, maybe two at most.

If they tell you they mailed it already, that can be a problem as they can't simply print a new title for you. Ask them when they mailed it and to what address?

One problem I've found with my own customers is that they moved during the course of a loan and never told us, so we mail the title to their "old address". But when that happens, the post office returns the title as undeliverable, and I stick it in their file until the customer calls.

As a last resort, you can ask them for a "lien release letter." Then take their letter to the Secretary of State and request a duplicate title.
