To dispute on CR or not to dispute - SOL

Hello All:
Wondering if anyone can shed light here - I finally just pulled my credit report and found two companies that I have written dv letters to. They have not provided anything to me whatsoever and have both reported on my credit report as delinquent with grossly inflated balances.
It has been about two years since I last paid on these accounts so my question is - with the SOL being 4 years in my state, should I dispute it to the CRA's or should I just wait it out another two years so that I am past the SOL? I don't want to stir up the pot...
Anyone have experience with this?
Any/all advice would help.
