I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and here is the response that I received from them I originally borrowed 250.00 and so far have paid 560.00 and they wont mark my account paid in full or give refund read on...

this is there response from the BBB

I also filed against them and received a similar response but mine included them calling me a fraud. So now we keep going back and forth with responses through the BBB because I keep rejecting their responses. Please also file a complaint with them with the Oklahoma Dept of Consumer Credit.

Tell them to bite you. If you have paid that much dont give them another dime. Are they licensed in your state? Probably not. Reject it and demand they pay you. Kyside38

v_padgett, have you filed with your state AG? I did and finally heard something yesterday from the Commission of Financial Regulation (Maryland). She told me that as long as I have paid the principle that I do not need to give them anything else because they are illegally lending in MD. She told me that she has previously sent this company a letter to cease and desist there actions. They are also keeping a list of all the complaints for this company and that if they keep demanding money to have them call her directly. She also stated that if they keep demanding to report them to the FTC @ 877-382-4357. PM me if you need more info. Good luck!

Tenn. attorney general office responded that they did not handled civil matters. They offered no help whatsoever to my complaint and to overpayments made to IPDLs. I am very disapponted with this response. I thought they were serious about bringing this type business down, but evidently not. I did file complaints online with Consumer relations department of state. But I have had no response from them either.

Ashley2006 I would love to see your response through the BBB because I really wasn't getting anywhere with them.

Guest, try doing a follow-up call/email to check the status.

Atm/guest- That is unfortunate and rather wierd. Maybe someone on here from TN can be of furter assitance. Hopefully the consumer relations dept in TN will offer some assistance. Are PDLs illegal in TN?

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html

it looks to me like you may have complained to the wrong parties. Have you tried the info listed above? Sounds like maybe the Attorney General in TN is not responsible for payday lender regulation, but the Department of Financial Institutions is. I would take that route next, and include all the documentation that you have.

No, I received letter from DOF and they also said I would have to pursue in civil court.
Thanks for everyone's help!

Oh that is ridiculous which is why I wish that they would cut these guys out all together. But I wouldn't stop hounding them until you get your account paid in full. So what if you applied for the loan and participated in their repayment program. If they would stop that repayment program where you would only pay interest or if pay down with the interest. They were eating away at your finances.

You cannot allow them to do this to you. But I am glad that you wrote your post because even though I have them in debt consolidation, I need to know what I am left owing on my account.

Ashley I dont know how TN is but the WV Attorney Generals office is great. They want the complaints. They are getting back thousands of dollars in refunds for consumers. I stand behind the AG. Kyside38

I also received no results from Tn AG. I was told it was a civil matter and they did not help with individuals trying to recover a refund. The lady I spoke to really wasn't concerned with these companies operating illegally. The letter I received from Department of Finance also said it was a civil matter that I would have to pursue on my own. I have filed with Consumer division the complaints with each company. I did this online, but have had no response from them. I felt very disappointed in these results. I have read such positive comments from others about their dealings with their state AG, that I had hope.
Will wait for response from Consumer complaints and see what happens.

sounds like someone has a grudge? I wouldn't worry about it, and I know Steelers isn't worried - she gives excellent advice and never steers anyone wrong - and so what if she "stayed up all night cleaning up someone else's mess" - we've all been there and have come to this site seeking help, and others have helped us. The least we can do when we receive that help is to stick around and help others.

I really don't mind when somebody slams me. It actually adds "fuel to my fire" and I love it. I'm always up for a challenge, and trust me what I did the other night, cleaning up a mess, was a challenge. Anybody with a conscience would not have let this person just hang there when they were put in that mess by getting bad advice.

v_padgett,

Are you or the loan company located in oklahoma. The reason i ask is if its a storefront, licensed in oklahoma they grossly violated oklahoma state law by both their apr and fees and will be much easier for oklahoma department of consumer credit and AG to get them. Also i believe that your DA can might can get involved. Also, you can go to www.oscn.net to read the state laws. Thanks to people on this site i have become rather familiar with Oklahoma Statutes and in particular Title 59(which governs payday loans in oklahoma) If i can help in anyway let me know

as well they can face a $1000 per incident fine in the state of oklahoma..i advised a company that screwed my troop over of that and its amazing, then they wanted to deal with him a little more..working on leveraging that and pointing out that the fines would exceed what he owes and any punitive damages that he got if he pursued them in court. That financially they would be better off to give him a PIF letter. A company licensed here would be much easier to pursue..and Suebeehoney70, Steelers, and finsfans are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for the hell that the pdl, and IPDL companies are getting from me! :)

Route 66 is the one I have an address of Albany, New York. Thanks for info. Since I have filed with my AG, I will file with other states. 3 of my 5 have marked PIF, but I overpaid considerably(over $1300).
They said they would not give a refund. I would like a refund. Last 2, Route 66 and USFAST Cash still say I owe amount even though I have overpaid. But since Dec. 6th, I have heard nothing from them. My old account is closed and they cannot debit any more from me. Thanks for all help!

at_mrtn -

We're glad you were able to obtain help and advice here! Congrats on the ones you were able to get marked paid in full! :D

Rt. 66 is difficult to work with, but if they stop contacting you and are not debiting your account (since you closed it), count yourself lucky. Their normal practice is to hound you until you pay. If they are not contacting you, and you have overpaid them, chances are good that they will not contact you any further. Have you sent them a letter demanding to be marked paid in full?
