I have a summons to appear and was wondering what can happen.Citibank was the card but was boughten out by unlimited assets.I was written off in 03/2004 but unlimited assets filed this 1 month before my 4 yr statue of limitations was up.My question is what can happen to me? I live in Texas. Can They Garnish my wages?Put a lien on my house? Do I have to pay this third party? Any help would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks Gary

Texas is a non garnishment state so they can't garnish your wages. The most important thing is that you show up in court. If you don't they will win by default. You may be lucky and they won't show up. Then you can ask for a vacate with prejudice. The statute keeps running after they file also. You can try to use that but remember that judges are lawyers and will assume that you are wrong and the lawyers are right in many cases. It would be best to have an attorney. This would go away real fast if you did.
