Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
If you don't make the payment on the scheduled date, then you'll have to pay a late fee. If you ignore your payments for few months, then the card issuer can increase the APR. So, it is better to call your creditor and ask him to extend the due date. Make the payment within the new date. This is because late payments will hurt your credit score. It will also be reported on your credit card for 7 years.

They can call you any time. They may wait for a month or so, and then start calling you. They may even sell your account to the collection agency. The debt collectors will make collection calls to you. If required, the collection agency can sue you. Your creditors can even file a lawsuit against you to secure a judgment order. Once they obtain a judgment order, your wages can be garnished. So, I would suggest you to make the payments as early as possible.

If it is not possible for you to make the payments, then negotiate with your creditor to lower the interest rate or the total outstanding balance. You can even enroll into the debt relief programs and repay the debt.

It's a good idea to share your concern with the creditor. Try and explain your current financial strength, so that the creditor agrees to a repayment option. They may help you with a lower interest rate or may even reduce your outstanding balance as Nelly stated. If you're not being able to make regular payments, you may request an alternative payment plan.

Before the bill was due I called to see if they could help be by lowering the interest rate, reducing the debt and they told me they could not help me and there was nothing they could offer. So, with that I just didn't pay the bill. They basicaly is so many words told me that because I have never been late and always paid the min $$ and have had the card for 3 + yrs too bad for me and they only work with those that are late.

So, i guess while not the smartest choice, I didnt pay Januarys bill. They can't garnish any wages I havent worked in 6 yrs.

So here I come Do it yourself debt settlement with US BANK.

I started receiving calls from the cedit call "howlers" after being one week late.
And it builds from there.

However I was prepared to deal with the "howlers" because of the great intel in this forum.
