I have always used equity in my house for debt consolidation however, this time the house appraised for a lot lower than my mortgage. Now I am sinking under credit card debt. I have been looking into debt settlement companies whom would you recommend?

How much is your total debt? There are few settlement companies which require a minimum amount to qualify for their services. If you have debt over $10,000, my recommendation will be Superior debt relief. They are pretty famous on the board.
