Has anyone attempted to settle a Wachovia debt ?

I have a 10K Wachovia debt it has been 6 mo since I have paid. I have received several " attempt to contact you and settle " letters from them but they have not taken any action as of today. I dont know whether to contact them and begin to deal with them or let them go through their process. I am unsure if they sell the debt of give it to a law firm to collect like Discover does...any asst appreciated on how to proceed with Wachovia. I am currently trying to deal with my 4 other creditors sent letters to 3 for settlements and just completed a summons response for Discover...trying to settle some before dealing with this but may not be best route!!

Did you reply to those settlement letters? How much are they willing to settle for? Before you negotiate for a debt settlement, you should send them a DV letter and get the debt validated. Once they validate the debt, get the settlement agreement in writing and pay them off.
