I have a personal question of some concern to me.
I am dating someone who found out that his aunt was opening credit cards in his name. We only discovered this after randomly checking our credit reports. I have been pushing him to report this to the 3 agencies but he wants to avoid legal action taken on her. Is there a way to remove this blemish from his credit reports in other ways or is the only way to go to these agencies?

She is committing ID theft and it needs to be reported to the police. Maybe tell her she either pays off these accounts ASAP or suffer the consequences. The CRA's will require the authorities be reported.
