I understand that a negative item remain on report for 7yrs. I'm going over all three reports and I see that orig creditors and CA have wrong reporting date on all 3 reports. For instance, a debt was charged off back in 2001 and on my report I'm showing report date in 2006, nowhere on my report does it show 2001, so I'm thinking instead of the debt falling off next yr at the end of the 7yrs, it will be 7yrs from 2006. Please advice what you suggest I can do in this case. Can they keep reporting the charge off account each year and i'll never reach my 7 yr mark? any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Thanks for your response Cajun. So, how would the bureaus know that it should automatically fall off if they don't have the correct information in their database?

Per the fair credit reporting act data furnishers are required to give this data to bureau within 90 days of placing account in their database. Sometimes reports don't display this date, but the bureaus must have this info on file to stay in compliance with the current laws.
