Debt CC has one of the most unique features I have ever encountered in a debt consolidation business, it's one of the most important aspects of the website, our community. We have helped many people (105.796 and the ticker is still climbing!) There are a few things that we have in common when each of us first came to this website, most of us were in trouble, be it a collection agency, student loans, PDL's, etc. the key word is trouble and we needed help and we have found that help in ourselves and the other knowledgable and generous people in the community.

We have found strength and solace in our community where as we may have felt weak by ourselves (some of us may even have been approaching or at the breaking point) we found knowledge to empower us, we found friends to comfort us, and we were able to find out that we were not alone which sometimes is enough all in itself. It's not just why are they doing this to me or why is this happening to me. It's happened to others, there are others that are in the same situation. Coupled with the awesome consolidation services we can start to take back our lives and having the support of our wonderful community to help see us through these difficult times. This is truly a wonderful place.

That said, the internet is a vast virtual space, a veritable galaxy all in itself. There are many other companies out there, some may be rivals out there that cannot hope to even touch the services offered by Debtcc, some may be collection agencies that do not like to abide by the fdcpa, or PDL lenders that do not like to abide by state usury laws, and still others that just take satisfaction in the misery and suffering of others. Then there are entities on the web that wish to spread word of their products regardless if it is in a proper manner or not. You know who I am talking about, the trolls like No Nonsense Collector and the spammers like the stress relief bot.

They are here to only attack us and try to disrupt the harmony that is so inherent in this community. To take our attention from our mission to ourselves and others and to direct it toward them and make us bitter, causing dissension (which can happen).

We need to make a stand against them and make our community ours again and we can easily do this, here is what I propose.

From now on:
1. When someone posts a bunch of bullcrap we ignore it, don't post to it (I know that I am the first that needs to follow this advise)
2. Step up moderation, when this kind of useless crap comes up we need to PM and/or quick message a mod to have it deleted or the thread locked.

Come on everyone, it's time to take our community back completely. It's ours, we all helped in contributing to the great place this has become so let's keep it that way.

Thank you for listening to my long winded speech, I'll step off my soap box now.

Take care everyone

Thats the reason I posted this in the pub as well as dealing with debt collection agencies forum. I hope it will serve as a reminder and to let people know what the troll posts are really about, so that they don't give into the fight part of the fight or flight instinct by fighting back (posting) but to stand their ground and ignore it.

Also, another thing. You don't need to post "MOD's please delete" on these posts . . . . It's just another post we have to delete.

We do the best we can, and it would be more helpful to just PM a MOD with a link to the thread then make another post. We aren't always online, but when we do get online we do our best to look around for spam and such. Please be patient. :D

I wanna put my '2 cents' in, too!! Since I've come to the DebtCC forums, I've had ALOT of advice and help. Thank you all! And ( to my amazement..) I've helped others deal with their OWN sitsuations. Love the forums.

I came here asking one question about one issue, and somehow that turned into me doign a ton of research for both myself and others. And then, that turned into me helping out others when I saw questions that I had the answers to. And THEN, that turned into being asked to be a debt samaritan. And THEN, that turned into getting feedback from people that were helped in huge ways thanks to some post or other that I had made, or something I looked up for them. One person on this forum was ready to make a settlement arrangement on a debt, he didnt know what else to do. Then he came here....and we helped him...and instead of paying the CA, he filed a suit against them. CA couldnt prove anything and they wiped the debts off his CR and paid him $2500 for fdcpa violations that we pointed out to him! he even had an ATTORNEY that didnt give him as many answers as we did. THAT is what I always remember this place as. I remember seeing someone post in the pub that they had a big financial hardship, and I cant count how many of us donated our points to her. Thats what this place is--this is where our members can go to get the kind of help that they cannot find anywhere else.

The instant that such a focus is no longer the top priority, then we have lost the entire point in my opinion. Its a good thing that so many people want it back the way it was before. But I dont understand it--those same CA's are the reason people come here and pull together, so when a debt collector comes in here with bad intentions, why should we treat that any differently than we do when they call our house and break the law?

Sorry for the rant, guys and gals. And thanks to all of you here that have given me advice better than I realized I would find when I came here.

I hate to revive an old topic but there is one other thing that I wanted to add about our community.

One of the things I have notice about the members on this forum is that (for the most part) we have always been here for one another, when something bad happens we all gather around that person to give them some kind of support, be it a shoulder to lean/cry on, or to give advice, or even debtcc points for those in financial crisis.

This is truly a community I can say I am proud to be a part of. We should all be thankful for the friends we have made since each of us has come here, you guys/gals are truly a blessing.
