Hi,
I am not sure how much I owe in short term loans but my husband was in the hospital for 33 days and I could not pay them. Is there anyway I can contact these places and set up a payment plan myself so they don't do anything to me further.

If you contact your lenders before they do, they will appreciate your responsibility in paying off the account. They will be willing to extend some benefits to you too if you assure regular payments.

If you contact your lenders at the first place, they will keep you in their good books and you might not have to go through all the harassments and embarrassing situations of escaping the past debt.

Can I help you in searching your lenders? What is the name of the loan company so that I can look for them? You can also get information about them from your credit report generated from the three bureaus.

I took out a payday loan through One Click Cash, there is one more loan that I presently working on. One Click Cash is forcing me to make the payment in full. I can't do that right at this time. They are calling me regularly and say that if I don't pay them in full, they will file case on me for internet fraud. Can they do this to me?

Hi Robin

Welcome to the forums.

You can't be filed with a case on internet fraud by any lender. These are some of the scary tricks used by them so that they can force you in making payments immediately. Send them a payment plan along with some advance money and say that this is what you will be affording now. Later, after your financial situation improves, you will be contributing more to it.

They can't throw any legal charges on you as you are willing to pay the debt. But they will try to pressurize you in making the payment. Keep negotiating with them with confidence. I assume they will accept your plan if you advance some money to them.

Your letter should reflect something like this. You can edit it as per your requirements and then send it to your lenders. In most cases, they do accept the plan.

Do send your letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will leave proof of each and every effort made from your side. You will be able to defend yourself later if required.

Creditor:

I recently obtained a copy of my credit report and noticed that your company has reported me as having the above listed account as: (delinquent, sent to collections, etc.). I wish to bring this account to a resolution that will be fair and beneficial for both of us. Therefore, I propose to pay you X monthly payments of $, or forward a check to you in the amount of $ as payment in full, provided that you are willing to send me a letter stating you will report this to any and all credit reporting agencies as: 'PAID AS AGREED' or notify me in writing that you agree to delete this item from any and all credit reporting agencies.

I WILL NOT agree to accept a 'PAID P & L' or 'CHARGE OFF' for an additional amount of time on my credit report. It is my position that I have suffered enough as a result of this problem.

Upon receipt of your letter I will send you a cashier's check or money order in the amount of $.

Sincerely,
